Specialist Periodontists are qualified, experienced dentists who have undergone an additional 3 years fulltime training within the speciality field of Periodontics.
Dr Nish Bhargava - Periodontist
Dr Nish Bhargava completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Kurukshetra University Haryana - India in 2006. After practicing in India for a number of years, he moved to Australia and completed his Masters in Infectious Disease at the University of Western Australia (UWA) as well as the Australian Dental Council Certificate and subsequently started practicing general dentistry in Albany, Western Australia until moving to Perth to complete his Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) from UWA.
His Doctorate thesis, which focused on changes in bone architecture caused by different surgical techniques at the time of implant site preparation and placement, was published in 2022, with Dr Bhargava presenting his research at ANZAP 2023. During the time Dr Bhargava was completing his Doctorate, he was also a clinical demonstrator and lecturer in periodontics for the Doctor of Dental Medicine students at UWA.
After finishing his specialist training in Periodontics, he moved to Victoria where he worked at a country and a city Specialist Periodontics practice. In 2021, he moved back to Perth WA permanently and has been the Owner and Principal Periodontist at Alliance Periodontics and Implant Dentistry since late 2021.
Dr Bhargava is an active member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), Australia and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), International Team for Implantology (ITI), Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS) and Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (MRACDS Perio).
Dr Bhargava has been a speaker at various forums such as ANZAP, and ITI, and has been co-running a Multispeciality Study Club since early 2022. He currently holds the positions of Secretary/Vice President of the Dental Specialist Society Of WA (DSSWA), and President of the Australian Society of Periodontics WA (ASP WA).
Dr Wendy Gill - Periodontist
Dr Wendy Gill graduated from UWA in 1994 and spent 9 years in general practice before completing her Masters Degree in Periodontology in 2006. Wendy obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Perio) in the same year and started Alliance Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in 2008. In 2014 Wendy underwent extensive additional training in the use of dental lasers for treatment of periodontal and peri implant diseases.
She is actively involved with the International Team for Implantology and runs a study club for dentists and dental specialists in Perth.
She also lectures locally, nationally and internationally on periodontal and dental implant topics. In 2020, Wendy was interviewed for 2 podcasts dealing with communication in dental health.

Laurie Dyer – Practice Manager
Laurie came to Alliance Periodontics in January 2023 when she moved from Sydney to Perth to be with her family. Laurie has 40 years of experience in the Medical and Dental fields commencing as a Medical Secretary and moving into Practice Managing 20 years ago. Laurie especially enjoys organising people and events.
Ms Jennine Bywaters - Hygienist/Education Co-ordinator
Jennine graduated in 1987 from Curtin University with an Associate Diploma in Dental Therapy. She has since attained the Cert. Health Education, a BSc in Health Promotion and a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. She has been a clinical demonstrator for student dental hygienists at Curtin University and currently participates in the clinical placement programme for Oral Health Therapy students.
Since 2018, Jennine has been an educator with the Swiss Dental Academy, presenting lectures at conferences and running training courses with Wendy for dental clinicians. Jennine is an active member of the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapists’ Association and recently joined the committee of the Australian Society of Periodontology (WA).
Jennine joined Alliance Periodontics & Implant Dentistry in 2016. She is passionate about periodontal health and enjoys working closely with Wendy to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.
Michelle Wright - Hygienist/Hygienist Co-ordinator
Michelle graduated from Curtin University of Technology Perth Western Australia in 1996 and worked in private practice as a general Dental Hygienist until 2005 when she started working in research full time on a large randomised controlled trial in Perth called the Smile Study. The research looked at the possible link between pregnant women who have periodontal disease and preterm birth which was completed in 2008.
Soon after Michelle worked at Princess Margaret Children’s Hospital in the Dental Department and from there worked for ten years in a specialist implant practice. In recent years Michelle has worked in specialist periodontal and implant clinics utilising laser technology in the management of periodontal conditions.
Michelle has been fortunate enough to be associated with the undergraduate dental students and Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy students in a clinical tutoring role helping teach students their valuable periodontal skills. She has also been an examiner on the Australian Dental Council exams conducted by the Department of Dental Hygiene and Therapy at Curtin University. More recently Michelle has worked as a professional educator for Colgate for the past thirteen years.
As an active member of the Dental Hygiene Association of Australia and Periodontal Society of Australia, Michelle keeps herself informed and up to date with the latest ideas and techniques on offer in her field.
Away from work Michelle enjoys family life with her two children taking them on adventures near and far.
Shenae Denham – Oral Health Therapist
Shenae graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Oral Health Therapy in 2014. Since then she has worked in general dentistry and paediatric speciality before joining the team at Alliance Periodontics and Implant Dentistry in 2021.
Shenae is passionate about periodontal health and its link to systemic health and has a strong commitment to providing patient centred care with empathy and understanding. She enjoys working in a team to achieve improved periodontal outcomes for patients.
Outside of work Shenae enjoys spending time with her family and daughter, walking her Australian Shepherd dog and having a coffee on the coast.
Jen Kaiser – Oral Health Therapist
Jen started her dental career as a Dental Therapist working with children in Northern regions of WA and the Northern Territory in 2009. Upon returning to Perth in 2016 she furthered her skills in Dental Hygiene and has attained a BSc in Oral Health Therapy and found her passion in Periodontics.
Jen joined the Alliance Hygiene team in 2019. She is kind, enthusiastic and motivated in providing patients with positive dental experiences.
In her spare time, Jen enjoys being outdoors, exploring and camping.
Dagmar Toman – Hygienist/Oral Health Therapist
In 2004 completed the Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene and I have since completed the Bachelor Degree in Oral Health Therapy, both at Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia.
The highlight of my working career was undertaking research at the University of Western Australia, School of Dentistry Periodontal Department’s "Smile Study".
I am member of ADOTHA and Australian Society of Periodontology WA.
In 2022 I have joined the clinical team in Alliance Periodontics & Implant Dentistry.
My clinical interests include periodontal diseases, treatment and prevention of periodontal disease, and prevention and treatment of oral disease.
I migrated to Australia with my family in 1995.
Erin Mountford – Oral Health Therapist
Erin graduated in 2013 from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science in Oral Health Therapy.
After completing her degree, she was one of sixteen successful applicants in Australia to be granted a position in the 2014 Oral Health Therapy Graduate Year Program. This opportunity allowed Erin to further her education and gain experience working in various dental settings throughout Western Australia. It was during this time that her interest in periodontics grew.
Being part of the Alliance team, Erin is passionate about periodontal health and enjoys working with the team to help support patients to achieve their best possible outcomes.
